This course is designed to familiarize participants with the proper use of devices designed to lift and move loads. After completing this course, participants should be able to describe how to use a simple block and tackle, a compound block and tackle, a hoist, a jack, a winch, a turnbuckle, and a load leveler. They should also be able to describe the effects of sling angles and hitch patterns on a slings lifting ability.
