Falls remain one of the leading causes of injury on residential construction sites. This course prepares you to recognize when fall protection is legally required under WorkSafeBC Part 11, and to confidently select, inspect, and use the right protection method for the job — keeping yourself and your crew protected and compliant on every site.
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Recognize common fall hazards and fall exposure situations on residential construction sites.
- Identify when fall protection is required and how site conditions, including roof slope and work location, influence protection requirements.
- Apply the fall protection hierarchy to select appropriate fall protection methods for common residential tasks.
- Recognize appropriate use, basic inspection, and limitations of common fall protection equipment and systems.
- Identify fall protection responsibilities, planning requirements, and appropriate actions when fall protection is inadequate or work falls outside the scope of this training.
